Week of February 27, 2012

Exciting events in our classroom:
  • The pizza sale has been extended through this Friday, March 2.  Please turn in your sales by this date!
  • Thanks to all who were able to attend the sock hop in support of our school.  It was a fun time!
  • This Friday, March 2, Father Paul will be providing a server training for all Catholic 4th graders during school.  I'm excited that many students will soon have the opportunity to serve at mass!                                                    
Focus areas for the week:
Religion – Beatitudes; Lent
Language Arts - Daily 5/CAFE - finish one "good fit" book - compound words
Math – Test on multiplication.  We will be moving on to long division then.  Wish us luck!  (Please keep practicing your math facts!)Social Studies - Make mukaks; French explorers and missionaries
Science - Recycling; landforms and continents

Week of February 20, 2012

Exciting events in our classroom:
  • Please keep selling pizzas!  The final turn-in day is this Friday, February 24.                                                                  
  • The Sock Hop is this Saturday, February 25 from 6:30-10:00 in the OLL gym.  Everyone is welcome to come and have a fun time!
Focus areas for the week:

Math – Multiplication of factors with two or more digits (Please help your child practice their facts!)
Social Studies - Finish up Native American unit; President's Day

Week of February 13, 2011

Exciting events in our classroom:
  • Please check that your child is reading at least one chapter in their "good fit" book each night.  We saw a nice improvement in comprehension last quarter, and I hope to continue on that path!
  • We will have our Valentine's Day Party on Tuesday, Feb. 14th from 2:15-2:45.  Students may bring Valentine's for everyone in the class on Monday or Tuesday.  Treats and things to drink to share with the class are also welcome!

Language Arts - Daily 5/CAFE - finish one "good fit" book - consonant blends
Math – Multiplication of factors with two or more digits (Please help your child practice their facts!)
Social Studies - Finish up Native American unit
Science - Recycling/"Green and Healthy" School

Week of February 6, 2012

Exciting events in our classroom:
  • We had a fun Catholic School's Week!  Thank you for all your donations and volunteering.  It really turned out to be a fun time!
  • I hope you received the note form your child about Parent/Teacher Conferences coming up on February 9.  Please contact the office or me if you need to reschedule.
  • Please continue to check that your child is reading their "good fit" book for 20 minutes each night.
  • The students will be presenting their Native American Tribe of Wisconsin project this week.  Thanks for your help at home in supporting them on this.  I'm very excited to hear about their projects and have them share them with one another.
