It's amazing that 3rd quarter has started already!  We have been very busy in the 4th grade.  We are beginning to talk about choices in religion.  In Language Arts we are almost finished with our second guided reading book.  I am also doing reading assessments to see where the students are at for their reading levels mid-year.  In math we are continuing with multiplication and division and are getting into the (sometimes dreaded) algebra part of it.  In science we just completed experiments with a lab partner.  The students followed the scientific method in their experiment and will now be writing up lab reports.  In social studies we have begun Native American studies.  Students will be working in groups to study and teach the class about all of the tribes in Wisconsin.  I'm hoping we might get to go on a field trip related to this too.

Next week is Catholic School's Week.  There is lots planned for this.  Please check the school website to see all the fun activities.  I hope to see all my students at the all school mass on Sunday, February 6th, at 10:00.  I look forward to visiting with all of you at the upcoming parent/teacher conferences on Monday, February 7th!
